The Wool Hall, Lavenham - Jane and Martin's wedding flowers

I have a beautiful wedding flower collection to show you today. Jane and Martin were married last year on a snowy January day in the medieval village of Lavenham, Suffolk at The Swan Hotel.

Jane and Martin had decided to have a twiggy natural look to their wedding,

Winter wedding

Jane wanted a classic looking wedding bouquet to compliment her dress. To achieve this, I used ivory 'Doloamiti' roses, with there merest hint of soft blush pink, to match Martin's tie, steely navy was used to to match the bridesmaid's dresses.

The bouquet had ivory 'Dolomiti' Rose, 'Bombastic' spray rose, Ornithogalum, blue spiky Eryngium, and silvery Brunia all linked together by a selection of natural foliage - A stunning combination for a January wedding.

The Bridesmaids wore a simple, yet sophisticated, navy full-length dresses, they looked stunning; their bouquets were a smaller version of Jane's handtied.

The men wore navy suits and their buttonholes were Ivory 'Dolomiti' rose, blush pink 'Bombastic' spray rose, backed with a piece of Eucalyptus and finished with a pinch of rosemary and tiny cone.

The ceremony was held in The Wool Hall, with its timber frame, high ceiling, and the roaring log fire, creating a warm and cosy space. I dressed the hall for the ceremony; vases filled with similar flowers to the bridal designs- ivory roses, stunning 'White Parrot' Tulipa, Ornithogalum, blue spikey Eryngium and silvery Brunia.

The scented Rosemary foliage, grey Eucalyptus cinerea and Grevillea gave the handed table arrangements a natural look highlighted by a collar of Fatsia japonica around the edge of the design. To add the finishing touch to the designs, navy ribbon was tied around the neck of the vases

The Reception - The guests were wowed by the tables, dressed with glass vases with the natural handtieds, and tall salix twigs were placed in the centre of the handtieds to create height. Also, a gnarly ring of birch twigs, Eucalyptus boule wound around the vases, candles and fir cone place names were added to complete the Woodland theme.

I absolutely loved working on Jane and Martin’s wedding flowers and letting me share their wonderful Winter wedding day. I received the most lovely feedback from Jane and Martin:

"Its not always easy dealing with a second time round bride, with all the hang-ups that entail!

Catherine, you were was amazing - creating, absolutely beautiful winter bouquets and fantastic table arrangements, which captured the colours, the design brief and the mood of the wedding perfectly.

Through careful consultation, we agreed on a style that most closely suited me and my January wedding plans. Wedding flowers are personal, and in my opinion, essential to make the day extra special. Catherine’s experience shines through in all that she does; in her sensitivity, her colour blends, her understanding of design and most of all, the importance of your occasion and how you enhance it through flowers."
